Where your holistic healing journey begins.

Healing your mind and body from the hidden impact of Trauma, and Stress.

Serving adults in-person in Calgary and virtually across Alberta

Hello, and welcome to my corner of the world!

When it comes to mental health, I approach things a bit differently as an Integrative therapist

Which means what exactly? I blend top-down approaches (such as neuroscience, cognitive behavioural and cognitive processing therapies) with bottom-up approaches (somatic therapy and mindfulness) while also taking a systems approach, recognizing there are many facets of health in our lives. I intend to provide you with a different therapy experience for holistic wellness.

Leave behind stress and overwhelm to embrace a space for regulation, remembrance, and reconnection with your innate self. You deserve to heal.

Your past experiences have shaped you—mind, brain, body, and nervous system. When trauma, stress, or loss disrupts this balance, it can leave you feeling disconnected, anxious, or exhausted. But these challenges don’t have to define you and limit your ability to live a thriving life.

If you feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, stress, perfectionism, people pleasing, burnout, or fatigue, using coping strategies that don’t seem to shift things, I’m here to help.

Let’s explore a way of being rooted in regulation, connection, and ease.

Hey you! You’re allowed to slow down, you’re allowed to heal

You are not broken. You’ve just learned to survive in ways that no longer make sense.

Maybe you’re the one everyone turns to—the dependable one, the doer, the helper. You keep going even when you're running on empty. On the outside, it looks like you’re managing. But inside, you may feel like you're barely holding it together.

There may be patterns you don’t even realize are running the show: anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, chronic busyness, or coping through things like wine, scrolling, overworking, or numbing out. You might be struggling with persistent exhaustion, pain that won’t resolve, or a sense of disconnection from yourself.

Sometimes, beyond all the coping, something terrible may have happened to you. You live each day trying to escape the pain of it all—the flashbacks, the sleep issues, the avoidance. And now, it’s becoming too much to bear.

These ways of coping didn’t come from nowhere. At some point, they served a purpose. They protected you. They helped you belong, stay safe, or feel in control. And yet, over time, they may have become the very patterns keeping you stuck. And now, you are ready to become unstuck and move forward.

I believe all behaviour makes sense when we understand its roots. Often, these patterns stem from unresolved stress, trauma, or early experiences that shaped how you relate to yourself and the world.

Sometimes we need support untangling what once helped us survive, but no longer feels sustainable.

Healing becomes a path of learning how to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with the parts of self that have been long abandoned.

It’s not about fixing you. It’s about returning to yourself—gently, with curiosity and care. And that’s where our work begins.

We are all human, and sometimes, we need support.

I'm a somatic therapist who weaves my lived experience into a holistic, humanistic, and individualized approach to relating and empathizing. I meet you where you are at. Understanding how my social location may impact you is important to me, and I continue to do my work as a fellow human both personally and professionally to show up in a good way.

A session with me is a corner of the world where I will be compassionate and non-judgemental in supporting you in getting back on track. I would be honoured to walk alongside you on your personalized healing journey. My intention is to offer a space that welcomes the messiness of being a human as you navigate your path toward recovery and renewal.

  • "You are not a project. You are a living, sensing being, learning how to come home to yourself. Let your healing be gentle. Let it include the messy, the uncertain, and the moments that don't look like healing at all. Because that's often where the real work lives."

Founder of Wild Journey Recovery

Hi, my name is Theresa, and I am the founder of Wild Journey Recovery. Thank you for being here; I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to search for support, especially if your world feels dark. I have been there myself.

And I came out on the other side.

I am human first.

A Mental Health Therapist second.

My professional philosophy is grounded in the idea that I am not an expert in your life and instead can walk beside you until you reconnect to that part of you that knows what to do.

Understanding How I Approach Client-Centered Work: An Interview on My Approach to Healing

Learn more about who I am, how I got here and most importantly how I work with clients.

In this interview, I delve into the profound effects of trauma and stress on mental health and wellbeing. I share insights into my holistic and body-centered therapy practices, which aim to help individuals navigate their healing journeys.

Areas of Focus

I support individuals who are ready to reclaim their lives and create meaningful change. The people I work with often come to me feeling:

  • Burned out and overwhelmed — tired of feeling tired, and unsure how to rest.

  • Stuck in over-functioning — constantly busy, always helping others, but longing to slow down.

  • Driven by perfectionism — holding high standards as a way to feel safe or worthy.

  • Anxious or emotionally dysregulated — caught in cycles of worry, fear, or internal pressure.

  • Reliant on coping strategies that no longer work — such as alcohol, overworking, people-pleasing, or numbing out.

  • Living with the impacts of trauma — including complex trauma, childhood/developmental trauma, shock trauma, or the ongoing effects of systemic and relational trauma.

If even one of these speaks to your experience—and you’re ready for things to be different—let’s talk.

Please note, at this time, I do not work with children or adolescents.

Direct Billing Available

As a Registered Social Worker (#17853) with the Alberta College of Social Workers, my services may be eligible for coverage through your insurance plan. However, it’s important to note the following:

  • Some insurance providers do not cover services provided by social workers. Please note, that it is your responsibility to verify with your plan what coverage is offered for mental health services, specifically a Registered Social Worker. Please note I will not contact your insurance providers on behalf of you to inquire about coverage. Thank you for your understanding.

  • If direct billing is supported by your insurance provider and plan, I will process claims on your behalf. If your insurance covers a percentage of the session, the remaining balance will be billed at the end of the session.

I offer direct billing through Telus e-claims for the following insurance companies:

My goal is to simplify the billing process so you can focus on your healing journey. If you have questions about direct billing or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Still have questions?

  • 15-minute consultation: free

    50-minute individual session: $200

    90-minute A.R.T session: $300

  • I never want finances to be a barrier to healing. I do offer limited slots for a sliding scale option, please reach out if you would like to discuss this further.

Additionally, I am a therapist for the Breaking Free Foundation which offers grants for people seeking trauma therapy. I welcome you to find the application for a grant here to apply for a grant for therapy. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

  • At this time, I do have direct billing to insurance companies. You can find more information here. Or contact me here with further questions.

  • Please review your insurance policy as most insurance providers will cover services with a Registered Social Worker (RSW, MSW).

  • Please be advised that, as an independent business owner, I have implemented a 24-hour cancellation policy. Should you require the need to cancel your scheduled appointment, kindly provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice. This allows for the opportunity to offer the appointment slot to individuals on my waitlist.

In the event of a cancellation made within 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment or a failure to attend ('no show'), the full cost of the appointment will be charged.

I strongly recommend verifying the terms of your insurance coverage, as late cancellations and missed appointments may not fall within the coverage parameters of your plan.

I greatly appreciate your understanding of and compliance with this policy, as it helps in maintaining an organized and efficient practice. If you have any questions or need more clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for entrusting me with your care.

  • You are still welcome here. I have been trained and continue to develop my knowledge regarding trauma and mental health, which allows me to work with clients who have experienced various traumatic experiences. That being said, I work from the perspective that trauma is nuanced and can look like many different experiences for different people. Regardless of what happened to you, if you are experiencing mental health concerns, I can support you in uncovering the root of these symptoms and help you return to a place of thriving instead of feeling like you are surviving day in and day out.

  • If you need immediate help or are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact 811 in the city of Calgary or visit your nearest emergency room. You are also welcome to contact the Distress Centre, which is a 24/7 crisis line, call 403-266-HELP.

You can also get in touch with the Canada Suicide Prevention Line at 1-833-456-4566, Text the Crisis Text Line at 686868.
